People First RH is proud to welcome our newest Advisory Board member, Lauren Paxton.  Lauren focuses her practice on litigation and internal investigations, concentrating on all matters of employment law.  A seasoned trial attorney, she has vast experience in federal, state, and regulatory matters, as well as arbitration.  She regularly handles employment litigation, workplace investigations, government inquiries, high-stakes workplace disputes, and C-suite employment negotiations. Lauren is adept at identifying litigation risk in the workplace and crafting custom-tailored solutions to mitigate exposure.  She also provides training, prepares legally compliant workplace policies and procedures, and counsels her clients throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through performance management, dispute resolution, restructuring, and terminations.

1.  What interested you about People First RH?  People First RH is focusing on addressing a need that many employers have in the modern workplace.  By providing a more advanced platform for reporting and resolution of complaints in the workplace, People First gives human resources personnel and legal counsel the tools and information needed to permit expeditious and effective resolution of workplace issues.  

2. What is the impact you see People First having in the workplace?  From my perspective as outside investigative and litigation counsel to a range of employers, People First enables employers to mitigate the risk of legal exposure by providing a path forward to prompt and internal resolution of legal matters. 

3. In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge/obstacle to a zero harassment workplace?  We have already seen sweeping changes in the law on the heels of headlining cases of egregious harassment in the last decade. With the continued evolution of the legal landscape, together with shifting demographics in the workplace, employers will increasingly find the maintenance of a harassment-free workplace a business necessity.
